New watercolor exhibit from Bushnell at TNPS

DIXON – The vibrant watercolors of northern Illinois farmer Fred Bushnell will be on display July 16-31 at The Next Picture Show.

Bushnell, who was born in Joliet and raised in Rochelle, began to paint seriously in 1990 after a 45-year career as a farmer. His work is noted for its deep, rich color and his knowledge of his varied subjects.

“I paint what I know best: the scenes on my farm in northern Illinois; of Florida, where I spend the winters; scenes done while on personal trips and my travels while volunteering with the U.S. Department of Commerce’s USAID program, where I work with farmers in Third World countries.
