David L. Caudillo

ROCK FALLS – David Lee Caudillo, 54, of Rock Falls, passed away Sunday, June 24, 2012, at his home, surrounded by his wife and daughters.

David valued family above all else. He leaves behind his cherished wife, Anita (Ohda); and his most treasured daughters, Joie, Jacqueline and Shelby.

David was born June 3, 1958, to Manuel and Jesse (Garcia) Caudillo. Manuel preceded David in death while his beloved mother, Jesse, survives him. David was able to attend Jesse’s 81st birthday celebration in May. He was the seventh child in a family of eight children and is survived by all his brothers, Larry (Madeline) Caudillo, Richard (Nancy) Caudillo and Mark (Reyna) Caudillo; and all his sisters, Rita (Bud) Thompson, Sally Caudillo, Patty (Gary) Dowding and Monica Caudillo. David also is survived by five aunts; six uncles; many cousins; nieces; nephews; and his two godchildren, Jaxson Caudillo and Steven Jackley.

David was the spirit of generosity: to his friends, he gave what they most needed, whether it was food, a suit for their mother’s funeral or the encouragement to do “One More” rep; to his brothers, his admiration; to his sisters, his tireless teasing; and to his wife and daughters, he gave his total devotion.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m., followed by the funeral at 7 p.m., Thursday at Schilling Funeral Home in Sterling, with the Rev. Randy Osborn, pastor of Living Bread Fellowship in Sterling, officiating.

A memorial has been established.
