Semi hits utility pole in Dixon
DIXON – Some Dixon residents and business owners lost power Friday morning after a semitrailer took down a utility pole on South Peoria Avenue.
According to police, Randy L. Taylor, 58, of Sterling, was driving north in the 400 block of South Peoria Avenue about 10:40 a.m. when a low-hanging utility line caught on the trailer, causing the pole to fall down and a second pole to snap in half.
Taylor was not injured, nor was there any property damage, according to police. No citations were issued.
