Feds seeking contracts for Crundwell horse sale
DIXON – A multi-day, live public auction to sell at least some of the more than 400 prime quarter horses belonging to former Dixon Comptroller Rita Crundwell is expected to occur sometime this summer in Dixon, according to documents posted this week on a federal procurement website.
The date and place of that sale, or any other sales, will be finalized once the U.S. Marshals Service awards contracts to qualified horse professionals to sell the horses and other items seized from Crundwell after her April 17 arrest at Dixon City Hall.
On Wednesday, marshals posted a solicitation to potential contractors on www.fedbizopps.gov, which lists all federal procurement opportunities worth $25,000 or more.
