Sara Lee store in Rock Falls not among closures

ROCK FALLS – The Sara Lee Bakery Group store in Rock Falls will not be among the 11 Sara Lee stores that will close by the end of November, a spokesman said Thursday.

Sara Lee said on Thursday that it expects all company-owned retail outlet stores to close by the end of November. Nine of the company’s 11 outlets are in the Chicago area.

The Rock Falls outlet is not expected to close, because it no longer is owned by Sara Lee Corp., spokesman Mike Cummins said. The store was among the stores that changed hands when Sara Lee Corp. sold its North American Fresh Bakery business in November 2011 to Grupo Bimbo S.A.B., Cummins said.
