Rockets stay on target: Class might change, but not course
There was a time when Rock Falls, with a school enrollment of around 700 students, was among the biggest schools in Class 1A.
That enrollment advantage helped the Rockets field teams that enjoyed long postseason runs, particularly when it came to boys basketball and baseball. In the near future, Rock Falls will still have teams capable of doing great things – whether in regular season or postseason play – but it will be without any sort of enrollment advantage.
In fact, because of change in IHSA enrollment classifications announced last week, the Rockets will be at a disadvantage in that regard.
