Poll failed to recognize all candidates

Text Size: AaAaAaAaAa

This is a response to Sauk Valley Media’s recent “Reader Poll” asking which presidential candidate would do a better job of improving the economy. Like most media outlets, you’ve failed to recognize all presidential candidates. This didn’t refer to any third parties.

Mitt Romney is not the Republican nominee. I repeat, Mitt Romney is not currently the Republican nominee. That will not be decided until August, no matter what the media would like to think.

Until 1,144 delegates vote for Mitt Romney at the Republican National Convention, there are still two candidates in the race. If you care about your country, you’ll take it upon yourself to do the research. As Patrick Henry said: “I know not what course others will take; But as for me, give me liberty or give me death.”

I am Republican. I voted Democratic in 2008. I will be voting Republican this November, and it will not be for Mitt Romney.

Obama and Romney are simply two sides of the same coin. They both support perpetual war, the Federal Reserve System that continues to devalue our currency, and raising the debt ceiling. They both supported the bank bailouts and received contributions from banks that received bailouts. They both support gun laws and the illegal detainment and assassination of U.S. citizens on U.S. soil.

The following achievements are that of only one man currently running for president, and it’s not Romney or Obama:

Military veteran, medical doctor, U.S. congressman, and best-selling author of economics literature; only person in Congress with a 100 percent constitutional voting record, voted against the war in Iraq, bank bailouts, and authored “Audit the Fed” bill; introduced legislation to allow competing currencies and legalization of gold and silver, abolish taxes on the elderly, phase out the IRS and income tax, allow transportation of raw milk across state lines, and give back rights to the states.

Wise saw collapse in support

Last week, Sterling Alderwoman Amy Viering attended her last meeting as a city official. She gave the usual praise one hears at such departures. But one compliment stuck out. At the end of her speech, she turned to City Administrator Scott Shumard and said, "You're awesome."
