Luella Mae Dykstra Prins

MORRISON – Luella Mae Dykstra Prins, 85, formerly of Freeport, died Thursday, June 21, 2012, at Resthave Retirement Home in Morrison.

Luella was born July 8, 1926, in East Clinton, the daughter of Garrett and Kate (Buikema) Housenga. She married Jacob Dykstra on April 27, 1944. Luella and Jacob lived in Stephenson County for more than 30 years. He died Aug. 4, 1993. Luella then married Elmer Prins on Oct. 1, 1994, in Morrison.

Luella was a member of Emmanuel Reformed Church in Morrison, and a former member of Community Reformed Church in Freeport, where she served as a Sunday school teacher and a member of the Women’s Guild. Luella enjoyed doing crafts, crocheting, baby-sitting and spending time with all of her family.
