Hopes Summit ideas get through to teens, parents
Thank you, Sauk Valley Media, for your excellent article June 21 on the 21st Century Learning Summit and the organizers of same. As a consumer, I see these deficiencies all the time.
I’m amazed at how few times a clerk says “thank you,” cannot carry on a two-way conversation with a customer, their frequent use of “yup,” gum chewing, cellphone ringing, and texting when I approach the counter.
I don’t like to see chipped nail polish on a waitress, and I really don’t enjoy looking at their tattoos. Nor am I interested in the conversation being carried on between two employees while I wait for my transaction to be completed. It matters not to me how their social life is going.
