The event Mumford wishes it could attend
DIXON – Didn’t score any Mumford & Sons tickets? Not to worry – there’s another fabulous concert event taking place Aug. 18 in Dixon, and this one also benefits a good cause.
The annual Gardenstock Art & Music Festival, a benefit for Sinnissippi Center’s Youth Gardening Program, returns to Distinctive Gardens, 2020 Lowell Park Road, this year with eight bands and Australia’s top blues guitarist, Gerry Joe Weise.
Weise has played with Eric Clapton, B.B. King, Ray Charles, Buddy Guy, John Lee Hooker, Albert Collins, Noel Redding and The Yardbirds. In addition to his headlining performance,
Weise will offer a free “Master Class” for guitar enthusiasts at 6 p.m. Aug. 22 at Woodlawn Arts Academy, 3807 Woodlawn Road in Sterling.
