Mary A. Welty

POLO – Mary A. Welty, 63, of Polo, passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2012, at St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates. She was a nurse for more than 35 years.

She was born Nov. 8, 1948, in Jackson, Mich., the daughter of William P. and Marjorie (Briggs) Baker. She was united in marriage to Robert D. Welty II on March 27, 1965, in Las Vegas. Mary was instrumental in the starting of the Polo Athletic Boosters in 1983. She loved to cook for her family and most of all loved her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Bob; daughter, Jacqueline (Dave) Gray Jr. of Polo; sons, Brian (Shelly) Welty of Oregon and Scott (Joy) Welty of Dixon; sisters, Margee O’Connor of Indiana, Patti Vales of Phoenix and Shelly (Del) Sheridan of Oregon; and grandchildren, Dalton Haenitsch, Noah and Kaden Welty, and Sam, Abbie and Megan Gray.
