Blanch L. Slifer
STERLING – Blanch L. Slifer, 77, of Sterling, died Wednesday, June 20, 2012, at CGH Medical Center in Sterling. She worked at Anixter Manufacturing in Rock Falls for 25 years.
Blanch was born March 5, 1935, in Ramsey, the daughter of Louie and Jennie (Hicks) Rhodes. Blanch loved to camp and spend time with family and friends. She was a great mom, grandmother, aunt and friend to all who knew and loved her. She touched many lives.
Survivors include four daughters, Paula Schueler of Rock Falls, and Debbie (Dave) Matznick, Becky Bailey and Berta (Scot) Beyer, all of Sterling; one sister, Corkie Brown of Vandalia; two brothers, Bill (Roberta) Rhodes of Sterling and Darrell (Patricia) Rhodes of Cussetta, Ga.; 13 grandchildren, Shonda Abrams, Dawn Hooper, Shane Schueler, Paulie Sanders, Christy Sharp, April Robbins, Seth Nelson, Nikki Wolber, Terry Greene, Blake Grimm, Mandy Bailey, Jason Schneider and Jacob Beyer; and 19 great-grandchildren, Dylan, Nathan, Gavin, Kyle, Jadon, Joseph, Calleigh, Teddy, Allie, Austin, Brianna, Andrew, Braydon, Joey, Cylee, Colton, Corey, Cameron and Jared.
