AMBOY – Sue Ann McCormick, 71, of Amboy, died Friday, June 15, 2012, at Kindred Hospital in Sycamore after a sudden illness. She was a beautician for many years in Amboy, and was a nurse’s aide at Franklin Grove Nursing Home.

She was born June 26, 1940, in Leaf River, the daughter of Edward and Winona (Burright) Blake. She enjoyed playing bingo and reading.

Survivors include her children, Casey McCormick and Corinne (Steve) Powers, both of Amboy, Thomas Shawn (Gayla) McCormick of Rock Falls and Kelly (Renee) McCormick of Marengo; eight grandchildren, Christopher, Felicia, Aaron, Carrie, Kimberly, Karrie, Cody and Meaghen; 11 great-grandchildren; one sister, Karlene Koch of Amboy; and one brother, Ed (Kathy) Blake of Amboy.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Larry.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Mihm-Jones Funeral Home in Amboy. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Monsignor Thomas Bales officiating. Burial will be at St. Patrick Cemetery in Amboy.

A memorial has been established.
