Secularists
are intolerant
 of believers

John Eades’ letter “No room for discrimination with marriage,” printed June 9, demonstrated he has no room for anyone who doesn’t believe as he wants to.

Marriage is and always has been a union of one man to one woman. It was born out of “religion,” not the state, but states long ago recognized its benefits for culture and stable, healthy children.

The idea that “you can’t legislate morality” is ridiculous; every law is somebody’s morality, and becomes the “official” morality. What homosexuals and their supporters are really after is to redefine what proper sexual behavior looks like, not for the good of children and society, but to soothe their own consciences, and to have it forced on everyone through courts, lawsuits, civil fines and more. That’s the opposite of “tolerance.”
