Rochelle man gets 30 years in shooting
OREGON – A Rochelle man was sentenced Thursday to 30 years in prison for firing at a man in a car in May 2011.
In February, an Ogle County jury found Charles D. Chamness, 29, guilty of two counts of aggravated discharge of a firearm. He was acquitted of four counts of attempted first-degree murder.
Chamness will serve 85 percent, or 25 1/2 years, under the state’s truth-in-sentencing law.
