IHSA tweaks system: Rock Falls moves up to Class 3A in three more sports

The Illinois High School Association released enrollments and sport classifications for the 2012-13 school year Wednesday. For the second year in a row, the state made significant changes to its classification system.

On Monday, the IHSA Board of Directors approved that all four-class sports would have 25-percent breakdowns. In addition, it approved an exception that boys and girls programs at each school would be the same class in basketball, baseball and softball, cross country and track & field.
