WQPT switching to digital
STERLING – Sauk Valley residents who receive WQPT’s PBS signal with antennae will have to make some changes next week to continue to receive the station.
Work will begin Monday on upgrading the “repeater” transmitter near Polo that provides local channel 48, and taking it from analog to digital.
Cable viewers won’t experience any lapse in service, but analog users whose TVs are not yet hooked up to a digital converter will have to get a converter to continue to receive WQPT, which airs PBS programming from Moline.
