Lester J. Dombroski
STERLING – Lester J. Dombroski, 90, of Sterling, died Monday, June 11, 2012, at CGH Medical Center in Sterling. Lester worked for International Harvester, retiring after more than 33 years of service.
He was born Jan. 16, 1922, in Sterling, the son of John Henry and Matilda Katherine (Berge) Dombroski. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Pacific theater in the Army in the Philippines. He married Mary Alice Butterfield on Dec. 2, 1950, in Chicago. Lester was a member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sterling and Sterling American Legion Post 296. He enjoyed woodworking, watching baseball and reading about World War II history.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Alice; two daughters, Rita (Karl) Felker of Sterling and Mary (Ron) Deichman of Spring Creek, Nev.; one son, Dennis Dombroski of Reno, Nev.; two sisters, Adeline Sheehan of Polo and Dorothy (Jack) Bond of Stillman Valley; one grandson, Benjamin; three stepgrandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
