The first quarter of the Academy of Well-Read Leaders, a pilot program for people looking to become leaders in the community, will run from July 10 to Oct. 2.

Through a book club discussion format, using fiction and nonfiction books, movies, documentaries and activities, the academy will train people to develop self-confidence and gain traits associated with being a community, workplace or personal leader.

The yearlong program will be conducted through a quarter to quarter commitment by both the participant and the employer.
