Sandholm counterarguments postponed
DIXON – Arguments that former Dixon High School basketball coach Steve Sandholm should be allowed to continue his defamation case have been postponed until July 13.
Sandholm had sued several parents in 2009 for critical comments they made online and on the radio about his coaching style. He also sued NRG Media, the parent company of local radio station WIXN, and Al Knickrehm, the station’s general manager.
The parents – Richard and Ardis Kuecker, Glen Hughes, Michael Venier, Tim Oliver, Dan Burke, David Deets, Mary Mahan-Deatherage, Greg Deatherage, Robert Shoemaker and Neile Petersen – said Sandholm verbally abused his players.
