Carroll County Democratic picnic Saturday

SAVANNA – The Carroll County Democrats are hosting a picnic Saturday featuring two candidates for election.

Former East Moline Alderwoman Cheri Bustos will be at the event. She is running against U.S. Rep. Bobby Schilling, R-Colona, in the 17th Congressional District. Also scheduled to be at the picnic is Mike Smiddy of Hillsdale. He will face freshman incumbent state Rep. Rich Morthland, R-Cordova, in the Nov. 6 general election in the 71st District House race.

State Sen. Mike Jacobs also was invited to the event.
