Children welcome to fish in derby
TAMPICO – The annual fishing derby in Tampico will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. June 23 on the Hennepin Canal at state Highway 172 and Star Road. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m.
The free derby is for children age 15 and younger only. Spectators are welcome.
Everyone will receive prizes. First- through third-place prizes will be awarded in age groups of 1 to 6, 7 to 10 and 11 to 15. The first-place prize in each age group will be a new bike. Door prizes also will be drawn.
