Projects start next week on Polo bridge, Prophet Road

DIXON – Bridge replacement is scheduled to start Monday near Polo, while paving work will start Wednesday on a section of Prophet Road in Whiteside County.

State Department of Transportation staff said that one lane of the U.S. Route 52 and state Route 26 bridge on the northern edge of Polo will be closed for replacement. Temporary traffic signals will be in place. Work is expected to be completed by October. For more information, call IDOT at 815-284-2271.

Paving work on Prophet Road will start about 7 a.m. Wednesday, 7 miles southwest of Rock Falls. There will be no marked detour, and Prophet Road will be closed to all traffic. Motorists should adjust their travel plans. The work is expected to be finished by 4  p.m. Wednesday. Call the Whiteside County Highway Department at 815-772-7651 for more information.
