Dance teams perform

STERLING – The Woodlawn Arts Academy’s Triple Threat and Dance Performance Teams will perform “Live On Stage” at 7 p.m. both days at Sterling High School’s Centennial Auditorium, 1608 Fourth Ave. Tickets are $7 in advance at the academy, 3807 Woodlawn Road, starting April 30. They will be $10 at the door. Proceeds benefit the teams, which are going to Walt Disney World in Orlando, Fla. in July to receive training from Disney professionals and perform on Disney stages. Photo scavenger hunt

ROCK FALLS – “Bethesda Blaze,” a Whiteside County American Cancer Society Relay for Life team, invites all area motorcyclists and drivers to its second annual “Ride for a Cure,” a photo scavenger hunt. Participants must furnish their own cameras. Register in advance at alicia.burkholder@gmail.com or 309-236-6238, or at Gieson Motorsports, 800 E. U.S. Route 30. Register from 9 to 11 a.m. day of at Gieson’s. Coffee, water, donuts and snacks will be provided. The ride ends at 4 p.m. with pizza and prizes at Manny’s Too in Fulton. Cost is $20, which includes a T-shirt and pizza, or $15 without the pizza. There is a $5 charge for nonriders who want to celebrate at Manny’s, which covers the cost of pizza. Proceeds benefit Whiteside County Relay for Life.


Second Saturdays in Dixon

DIXON – This month’s Second Saturdays Art Happenings features ‘’Art-Cycle,’’ a public art happening in which local artists and groups transform bicycles into works of art. Also seven venues will offer music, art and even a coffee roasting demonstration on a vintage roaster.  Events will run from 6 to 8 p.m. downtown, between First and Second streets and Peoria and Galena avenues. Go to www.Second-Saturdays.com for more information.


Art opening at the Cork
