Flyers bedevil New Jersey
Danny Briere scored 4:36 into overtime to give the Philadelphia Flyers a 4-3 victory over the New Jersey Devils on Sunday in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference semifinal series in Philadelphia.
Briere had his second chance at the winner count minutes after an apparent goal was overturned on review because he kicked it into the net. He also scored in the second period.
He wasted no time making up for the missed opportunity, firing a slapper past Martin Brodeur for his seventh goal of the playoffs.
