Darrell J. Dykhuizen

MADISON, Wis. – Darrell John Dykhuizen, 52, of Madison, Wis., formerly of Milledgeville, passed away Saturday, April 28, 2012, at St. Mary Hospital in Madison.

He was born Dec. 23, 1959, in Sterling, the son of John and Alberta (Smith) Dykhuizen. Darrell was united in marriage with Cheryl Lynn Buege on Aug. 9, 1986, in Madison.

He was a graduate of Milledgeville High School, attended Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, and graduated in 1984 from University of Wisconsin-Stout, Menomonie, in hotel and restaurant management.

Last week, Sterling Alderwoman Amy Viering attended her last meeting as a city official. She gave the usual praise one hears at such departures. But one compliment stuck out. At the end of her speech, she turned to City Administrator Scott Shumard and said, "You're awesome."
