Neighborhoods in need of more watch groups

This is in regard to a letter concerning Propheter Park. I am a member of the Propheter Park Neighborhood Watch. Our group is probably one of the two existing neighborhood watch programs still ongoing in Sterling.

Twice a year, our group has a neighborhood cleanup. With garbage bags in hand, we pick up trash from the streets and alleys in our neighborhood. I drive by the park daily and have witnessed no problems of late at the park. Several of our members live adjacent to the park, and, I assure you, a watchful eye is kept on any activities taking place there.

If someone is having a problem at the park, they need to contact the Sterling Police Department. Any call our group has made to police for assistance has been answered promptly and efficiently. In the past, we have had some trouble spots in our neighborhood, but after people voiced their complaints and concerns, those problems were eliminated. Problems cannot be solved if the proper authorities are not advised that a problem exists.

Good or bad? Depends on who you ask

Sometimes readers ask for more good news in the paper. They say we in the media only cover the bad. But one person's positive is another's negative.

My kind of game

I would have gladly paid to take in the game I covered Saturday morning in Morrison.
