Country concert in Dixon

DIXON – Rising country singer Josh Thompson performs Saturday at the Historic Dixon Theatre, 114 S. Galena Ave., along with Chris Cavanaugh and Sean Patrick McGraw.

Quilt show in Prophetstown

PROPHETSTOWN – First Lutheran Church, 300 W. Third St., is having a quilt show from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

Quilts and quilted items can be dropped off between 8 and 9:30 a.m., and be exhibited free of charge.

Admission is by donation.

Help the Hennepin

ROCK FALLS – Why not celebrate Earth Day by cleaning up one of our prettiest parts of the planet?

The annual Hennepin Feeder Canal cleanup is Sunday. Individuals, organizations or businesses that would like to participate should show up at the Lion’s Shelter in Centennial Park from 1 to 3 p.m.

After the work is done, the Rock Falls Hotel will provide drinks and snacks in its conference room, and the Illinois Department of Natural Resources will have a conservation trailer for kids to tour. The rain date is April 29. Call 815-590-6404 for more information.

Clinton Symphony Orchestra

CLINTON, Iowa – The Clinton Symphony Orchestra performs at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Clinton High School,  817 Eighth Ave. S. Moises Molina, professor of cello at Western Illinois University, will perform Dvorak’s famed cello concerto.

Tickets are $12 for adults, $5 for students at Fitzgerald Pharmacy in Morrison, Grummert’s Hardware in Sterling, and at the door. Students through eighth grade are admitted free.

Charlie Brown musical at Sauk

DIXON – Sauk Valley Community College’s Theater Department presents the musical “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown.”

Showtimes are 7 p.m. today and Saturday and 4 p.m. Sunday in Mathis Theatre.

Sauk’s Alumni Association also plans a free event for alumni after Sunday’s show that will include refreshments, photo opportunities with the “Peanuts” gang, Charlie Brown activities, giveaways and more. Alumni can call 815-835-8345 to ask about specially priced tickets for the matinee.
