JACKSONVILLE – Briana Jungnickel, a Sterling High School student of Coleta, received a presidential scholarship at MacMurray College.

Jungnickel competed at the Presidential Scholarship Competition in February for a chance to earn a scholarship to attend MacMurray. The competition required an essay, interview, tour of campus and meeting with different faculty and staff members.

She plans to major in education.

Educators of Beauty

STERLING – Kristina Schmall of Dixon, a cosmetology student at Educators of Beauty, was selected as the February Ambassador of the Month.

The March Ambassadors of the Month are Paige Gittleson of Franklin Grove and Jen Serenil and Kate Forbes, both of Sterling.

Brianna Cook of Tampico is the April Future Graduate of the Month.

Travis Meiners graduated from Sterling Educators of Beauty.

Milwaukee Institute of Art

MILWAUKEE – Brianna Boyer of Dixon was named to the fall dean’s list at Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design.

North Central College

NAPERVILLE – Emily Stewart of Dixon; Max Bradley, Maci Mitchell and Taylor Viering, all of Sterling; Kaitlyn Smith of Franklin Grove; April Vrtis of Amboy; and Nora Beswick, Nathan Vandermyde and Victoria Volckmann, all of Morrison, were named to the winter dean’s list at North Central College.

Illinois State University

NORMAL – Corie Schave of Chadwick, an accounting and human resource major, has been elected as the meet the firms chairwoman of the Student Accounting Society at Illinois State University.

Schave also is the vice president of social activities for Delta Sigma Pi and a participant in the alternative winter break program.

Carthage College

KENOSHA, Wis. – Ellen L. Hughes of Dixon, Cody Houzenga of Fulton, Lauren K. Sible of Oregon and Logan E. Sedig and Anthony J. Sterk, both of Sterling, have been named to the fall dean’s list at Carthage College.
