An article in Friday’s editions contained errors regarding the medical attention received by murder defendant Byron Adams since he became an inmate of the Lee County Jail. Lee County Jail Nurse Sandy Lewis testified at a court hearing Thursday that Adams had been seen by a physician 21 times in the past year alone, not since he was incarcerated in September 2009. The article also incorrectly stated that Adams had been admitted to the hospital five times between November 2008 and September 2009 for chest pains. On one of those occasions, Adams was in the hospital to have surgery on a leg.

We regret the errors.
