Barb Hermes marks the size of a prom dress Tuesday night at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Dixon. She and other volunteers were preparing for the fourth annual Second Look prom and homecoming dress sale, in which donated dresses are cleaned, refurbished and altered, then sold for $10, $20 or $30.

The sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 25 in the church’s Fellowship Hall, 1013 Franklin Grove Road. Dressing rooms will be available. Girls from all over the Sauk Valley are invited to shop. Last year, more than 300 dresses were donated, and the event raised $1,200.

If you have a dress to donate, or questions, call Barb Keith, 815-440-3270, or Hermes, 815-288-4814. The nonprofit program takes donated dresses and sells them to girls and then donate the money back to their schools. Last year they sold dresses to 70 girls with dresses priced under $30.
