STERLING – ‘Aida’, the classic tale of forbidden love between an enslaved Nubian princess and an Egyptian soldier, will be performed Feb. 24-26 at Centennial Auditorium.

The show, given a contemporary musical take by Elton John and Tim Rice, stars Alex Rodriguez as Radames, Brook Hadley as Amneris, and Annie Chattic as Aida. Along with their supporting cast, they bring the story of love and the hardships of cultural differences to life.

As their love blossoms, the young lovers are forced to face death or part forever. Together, they set a shining example of true devotion that ultimately transcends the vast cultural differences between their warring nations, heralding a time of unprecedented peace and prosperity.

Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for students at www.centennialauditorium.org and from 3 to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday at the box office, 1608 Fourth Ave. They also are available starting an hour before each show.
