The Amboy Clippers girls basketball team advanced to the Class 1A Amboy Regional championship with a 49-39 win over Putnam County on Wednesday.

The Clippers will play Annawan in the regional final at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

Freshman Kaitlyn Liebing had a big night for the Clippers (14-13) with 20 points. Autumn Smith added 11 points.

Daniela Pavolich scored 16 points for Putnam County (7-15).

Ananwan 86, LaMoille 41: Celina VanHyfte scored 33 points to lead Annawan (25-1) to the Amboy Regional championship game.

Shiela Browning scored 14 points in LaMoille (5-23).

1A Eastland Regional

Aquin 56, Eastland 28: The Bulldogs jumped out to a 14-4 first-quarter lead en route to knocking the Cougars out of the 1A Eastland Regional in Lanark.

Sophie Brunner led Aquin (26-4) with 30 points. The Bulldogs will play Dakota in the regional championship at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Lexis Macomber had eight points for Eastland (15-15).

Dakota 46, Forreston 43, OT: Aleesha Cleaver scored 23 points for Dakota (24-6) in a 2A Eastland Regional win over Forreston in Lanark.

Ketarah DeVries, who hit a 3-pointer with 6 seconds left in the fourth quarter to force overtime, finished with 20 points for Forreston (20-9).

2A Riverdale
Regional

Riverdale 50, Alleman 45: Hannah Nimrick scored 25 points for the Rams (24-5) in a win over the Pioneers (16-14) in Port Byron.

Riverdale will meet Rock Falls in the 2A Riverdale Regional final at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
