MONMOUTH (AP) — The police chief in DeKalb has been picked to be the top cop in Monmouth.
Bill Feithen is a 37-year veteran of law enforcement, and he's been police chief in DeKalb for the last 11 years. He'll officially take over as Monmouth's police chief on Feb. 27.
City Administrator Eric Hanson tells WGIL Radio (http://bit.ly/xpoCcO ) that Feithen is an attractive hire because of his strong background. And Hanson adds that Feithen was looking for a new opportunity and wanted to stay in a community with a college or university.
Monmouth is home to Monmouth College.
