STERLING – A candidate hoping to represent the Sterling-Rock Falls area in the Illinois Senate will be back in town Friday to meet with voters.

Former state Rep. Mike Boland, D-East Moline, will be at the Latin American Social Club, 2708 W. Lincolnway, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Friday.

Boland is running in the 36th Senate District, which includes a large chunk of Whiteside County. He’s challenging Sen. Mike Jacobs, D-Moline, in the March 20 primary. Bill Albracht of Moline is running unopposed in the Republican Party primary.
