MOUNT MORRIS – The Performing Arts Guild is having auditions for its spring production of Oscar Wilde’s, “The Importance of Being Earnest.”

Polish up your British accent and come with a prepared reading or you will be given something to read. Auditions will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Feb. 21 and 22 in the Pinecrest Grove library, 414 S Wesley Ave.

Needed are five men and four women of various ages.

In the play, two young men in 1890s England use the same pseudonym (“Ernest”) on the sly. That’s fine until they both fall in love with women using that name, which leads to a comedy of mistaken identities.

Performances will be held May 3-6 at The Pinecrest Grove Theatre.

Call director Kathryn Paigen, 815-668-1902, for more information.
