I support Ron McDermott for Ogle County circuit clerk. He is an honest man of high morality.

McDermott came into an office well-run and well-organized. He had a history of continued successes. It’s hard to take over after such a history because continued successes are expected and hard to produce. He has proved he’s just the person to run this office.

During his first year, Ron has already proved his leadership by starting the first “E-Appeal” system in the state, accepted by the appeals court in Elgin. The Illinois Supreme Court has now approved Ron’s program to accept appeals at the Supreme Court.

I have been a frequent visitor at the Ogle County Board meetings for longer than the past decade. I have watched the actions of Ms. Stahl during her term on the board. She’s seldom heard from on current issues. Her big claim to fame comes as chairwoman of the old courthouse renovation project when the board chairman wanted someone he could control.

This project was originally planned for $4.5 million, and by the time it was completed, the final cost was more than twice that price. Further review finds that Ms. Stahl’s leadership helped lead to the collapse of the GOP Women’s Club. Is this the leadership we want in our county offices?

Compare the two candidates. It’s obvious that Ogle County deserves a true leader. Please join me and vote for Ron McDermott as Ogle County circuit clerk on March 20.
