DIXON – Betty J. Clayton, 87, of Dixon, died Monday, Feb. 6, 2012, at Dixon Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. She worked for Purity Mills in Dixon for 20 years before retiring.

She was born Jan. 31, 1925, in Rochelle, the daughter of Lee and Agnes (Fleming) Kreitzer. Betty married Albert Clayton on July 6, 1950, in Dixon.

He preceded her in death on July 28, 1992. She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.

She is survived by her son, Roger (Cindy) Clayton of Lyndon; three grandchildren, D.J. (Kelly) Clayton of Arizona, Heidi Clayton of Grayslake and Ashley (Christopher) Burks of Galt; and two great-grandchildren, Jackson and Olivia Clayton.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Roy Kreitzer; and a sister, Barbara Kreitzer.

Burial of cremains will be at a later date at Oakwood Cemetery in Dixon. 

Arrangements were completed by Jones Funeral Home in Dixon.
