AURORA (AP) – A 13-year-old boy faces two felony charges after police say he brought a loaded handgun to his Aurora school.

Aurora police say the seventh grader brought the weapon to Waldo Middle School on Friday. The school was put on lockdown for a short time after the gun was located. No one was injured.

Police say a student heard the boy bragging about the weapon and told school administrators. The boy was pulled out of class and authorities searched his locked, where they found the handgun. Police say the boy didn’t plan to use the gun, but wanted to show it off to other students. They say the boy is not involved with gang and wasn’t being threatened.

Authorities say they are investigating how the boy got the weapon.
