Phil Thiele (left), project manager for Gilbane Construction, and Chad Colmone, principal of Tampico Middle School, seal four time capsules into the cornerstone of the new Tampico Elementary School Wednesday evening. The time capsules, representing the village of Tampico, Tampico Elementary School, Tampico Middle School and the Prophetstown-Lyndon-Tampico School District 3, will be opened 50 years later. The new elementary school is slated to open in the fall and is 12 weeks ahead of schedule.
