ROCK FALLS – Brian Edward Cheshier, 50, died Friday, Feb. 3, 2012, at Rock Falls Rehabilitation Center following a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born June 30, 1961, in Sterling, the son of Robert W. and Dorothy L. (Harrison) Cheshier. He was a 1979 graduate of Newman Central Catholic High School, where he played football. He continued to follow the Newman Comets every year. Brian was employed as a lab tech at Tate-Lyle Co. in Sycamore for the past 17 years. Prior to that, he worked at the former Wolohan Lumber Co. in Sterling.
He married Michele Kessel on May 28, 1999, in Sterling. Brian was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church in Rock Falls and a die-hard Green Bay Packers fan. He loved to do woodworking and cooking. Brian was a loving husband, father, son, brother and faithful friend to many.
Surviving are his wife, Michele; three daughters, Haley, Catherine and Christine Cheshier, all at home; his parents, Robert and Dorothy Cheshier of Sterling; his sisters, Deborah Cheshier of Sterling, Melanie (Mark) Fowler of Lyndon and his twin, Beth (David) Summers of Sterling; his brothers, Marty (Jeannette) Cheshier of Orlando, Fla., Michael (Kathy) Cheshier of Bremen, Ga., and Kevin (Linda) Cheshier of Marseilles; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bern and Fran Kessel of Amboy; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at McDonald Funeral Home in Sterling. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Rock Falls, with Monsignor Thomas Bales, celebrant, officiating. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at St. Patrick Cemetery in Amboy.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to his children’s educational fund would be appreciated.
