Create a sane, reasonable and just way of life

As we enter the final year until Dec. 21, 2012, a few musings about the much-heralded day. This overhyped, supposed day of doom, or end of the world, will most probably be anything but. But the times surrounding surely promise to be interesting.

As the current 13 baktun cycle of 5,125 years ends, the next cycle will begin. The ultimate significance of this winter solstice is as a time of transformation and renewal; out with the old, in with the new. This ending also coincides with our 36-year crossing of the galactic center, with resulting cosmic consequences.

Shortly after this traverse began, the Berlin Wall fell, followed soon by the Soviet Union disintegrating, as the shackles of oppression in Eastern Europe crumbled before the desires of the hearts of the people. Now, as we approach the transformational end of the Mayan age, the spirit of the coming age is once again breaking forth, most intensely initially in the Arab world.

Predictably, the contagion has spread worldwide, even to Russia and our own shores. Here, “American exceptionalism” has spawned the 99 percenter outcry against America’s homegrown, fascist plutocracy. Fed up with endless lame justifications for economic and social injustice, somebody had to point out the emperor’s nakedness and the stingy, greedy attitude at its root.

We can no longer afford to live with Alice in Wonderland. The looking-glass of propaganda, deception, lunacy and lies must be shattered by the truth and rational thinking. Only then can we create a sane, reasonable and just way of living together.

The world’s problems can be solved only with a worldwide solution. The times demand the family of humanity finally be realized, the evolutionary culmination of mankind’s expanding definitions of community. From family to clan, tribe, confederation, commonwealth and eventually nation-state, the family of humanity will not be denied.

Hey, I am still just waiting on John and friends(local OWIES) to start a fair, sustainable, hometown business. I think if they did, then the world might very well end, so earth-shattering would be the event.
