Sterling survives OT scare
Ashli King scored eight of her 11 points in the fourth period to help force overtime and the Golden Warriors went 7-for-10 from the stripe in the extra session to survive 51-45 on the road against Rockford Christian.
Stephanie Kester hit two 3s and led Sterling (13-11) with 12 points, while Jayla Penney led Christian with 14 points, eight of which came in the fourth.
The Warriors enjoyed a 9-3 advantage in overtime after being outscored 18-15 in the fourth. They shot 14-for-24 from the free-throw line.
Rock Falls 45, Mendota 15: The Rockets dashed out to a 12-2 lead after one period and put their road game on ice with a 16-2 third.
Rock Falls (15-8, 7-3 Big Northern West) junior Jordan Giddings shot 6-for-10 and led all scorers with 13 points, while Morgan Mammosser chipped in 12 and went 4-for-4 at the free-throw line.
Prophetstown 60, Morrison 30: Cassie Reiley made four 3-pointers and scored 19 points as the Prophets improved to 9-1 in the Three Rivers with a home win over the Fillies.
Molly Corbin added 16 points for Prophetstown (16-8, 9-1).
Morrison (5-18, 3-8) was led by Chelsea Eads’ 11 points.
Eastland 50, Galena 42: The Cougars built an eight-point halftime lead and made it stand up in Galena.
Eastland (10-13, 5-2 NUIC West) led 26-18 at the half and Kayla Barnes scored 11 of her game-high 18 points in the second half. Brianna Bautsch led Galena (4-14, 2-6) with 12 points.
Riverdale 53, Fulton 41: The Steamers scored only 10 points in the first half in a Three Rivers loss in Fulton.
The Steamers rallied in the second half with 31 points, but could not catch all the way back up.
Morgan Sanquist had a game-high 18 points for Fulton (9-15, 4-7). Morgan Wierema added 13 points.
Taylor Mericle had 12 points for Riverdale (18-5, 9-2).
Erie 72, Bureau Valley 22: The Cardinals soared to a Three Rivers win in Erie.
Kali Unruh had 19 points and 11 rebounds. Des Lawson chipped in 15 points.
Bailey Roberts scored eight points for Bureau Valley (1-26, 0-12).
