End tax breaks and loopholes for the wealthy

I agree with President Obama that everyone should play by the same rules, but it’s not a matter of wealthier people paying their “fair share.” They honestly pay more than their fair share in that they pay most of the taxes collected by our government.

I believe it’s a matter of obligation. Wealthier people are obligated by law to pay more. The reason they don’t is because they hire lobbyists to get Congress to give them loopholes and tax breaks to beat the system.

That must stop, and they must accept the tax laws without their special breaks.

But even if that happens, if Congress and the president don’t stop spending our money unwisely and also use 21st-century tools to fix Medicare and Social Security, all the money collected still won’t get us out of this financial crisis.
