Search leads to drug arrest

ROCHELLE – A Rochelle man was arrested Friday after police found drugs, paraphernalia and cash in a 10th Street home.

David R. Smith, 31, was charged with unlawful possession of cannabis with the intent to deliver, a Class 4 felony. He also was charged with misdemeanor charges of unlawful possession of cannabis and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Rochelle Police said more charges are pending.

Police executed a search warrant about 9 a.m. Friday at 115 S. 10th St. Rochelle’s K-9 unit assisted.

The search yielded between 10 and 30 grams of cannabis, multiple items of drug paraphernalia and cash, Rochelle Police said in a news release.

Smith was taken to the Ogle County Jail to await a bond hearing.
