Senior Allison Byrd, 17, of Polo, is Polo Community High School’s November Student of the Month.

Her parents are Mike and Karla Byrd. Her sister is Margaret Byrd, 19.

Favorite class: Any math class. I’ve always enjoyed the challenge of solving problems and getting them right.

Top teacher: Jason Kamp (physics and chemistry). He uses good examples and relates things to everyday life, which makes his classes interesting.

Extracurriculars: Yearbook, Spanish Club, Drama Club, Family, Career and Community Leaders of America, 4-H, Academic Team, Math Team, band and golf.

After graduation: I definitely will be attending college next year, and I am considering majoring in chemistry.

Best friend: My sister, Margaret. She is always there for me and is a good sister.

Favorite musical group: The Script.

Favorite actor: Michael Weatherly.

Favorite movie: “Across the Universe.”

Favorite TV show: “NCIS.”

Favorite food: Ice cream.

Biggest fear: Snakes.

Least favorite class: English.

What kind of music makes your skin crawl? Screamo.

Survival guide: Work hard, be yourself and respect everyone.

Useless knowledge: How to play eclipse ball in gym.

I’m in the dictionary next to: Creative, simply because I am a creative person.

Dream job: I would like to be a professional musician.
