ROCK FALLS – Frank Dubiel, 71, of Rock Falls, died Thursday, Jan. 12, 2012, at CGH Medical Center in Sterling. He worked at Northwestern Steel and Wire Co., retiring as a shipping foreman.
He was born Sept. 15, 1940, in Vandalia, the son of Frank and Estella (Howard) Dubiel. He married Phyllis Dial on Dec. 23, 1960. She died Aug. 5, 1998. He later married Vickie (Altman) Richard on May 6, 2000. He was a diehard St. Louis Cardinals fan and loved to watch the Chicago Bears. He loved old country music, collected baseball cards and enjoyed interacting and talking with people.
Surviving are his wife, Vickie; one son, Brian (Paula) Dubiel of Tampa, Fla.; two grandchildren, Jacob and Grace; two stepdaughters, Christina Harrison of Weston, Fla., and Tracy Flanagan of Sioux Falls, S.D.; stepson, Steven Flanagan of San Francisco; five sisters, Carol Long of Somonauk, Nancy Pickel of Bryant, Ark., Rosetta Wheeler of Terre Haute, Ind., and Norma Gable and Margie Carter, both of Shobonier; and two brothers, Allen Dubiel of Alexander, Ark., and Clifford Dubiel of Kingman, Ariz.
He also was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Betty Seidenstucker; and two half-sisters, Mary Lloyd and Donna Robison.
Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Les Funderberg officiating. Burial will be at Oak Knoll Memorial Park in Sterling.
