Mark Kruis (left) of Cedar Grove, Wis., and Patrick Chess of McHenry, working for Ecological Restoration, take advantage of the nice weather to cut down invasive plants in Franklin Creek State Park Monday afternoon. Today’s weather will be even nicer – still sunny, but with near-record highs in the low 50s, the National Weather Service predicts. The cold is coming, though – Wednesday’s high is expected to dip into the 40s, with blustery winds and a slight chance of snow that night.
