Six businesses in Whiteside and Carroll counties were cited last month for selling alcohol to minors, the Illinois Liquor Control Commission reported Monday.

On Dec. 8, agents from the ILCC and the Secretary of State Police conducted checks on 14 businesses throughout Whiteside County.

Those cited for selling alcohol to minors are Howard’s Tap, 206 S. Main St., in Albany, and Morrison Fuel 24, 615 E. Lincolnway, and Casey’s General Store, 602 E. Lincolnway, both in Morrison.

On Dec. 15, the agents checked 14 businesses in Carroll County. They cited Milo and Beaver’s Service, 611 Main St. in Savanna; Mount Carroll Mobil, 315 S. Clay St., in Mount Carroll; and Mr. Z’s Sports Bar and Restaurant, 800 One Mile Road, in Thomson.

The compliance checks are part of ongoing undercover and cooperative law enforcement operations conducted by ILCC agents and local law enforcement and volunteers from high schools and colleges.
