SURGOINSVILLE, Tenn. – Alexa Rae Linboom, 5, of Surgoinsville, Tenn., died Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012, at Niswonger Children’s Hospital in Johnson City, Tenn. She was a kindergartener at Surgoinsville Elementary School.

Alexa Rae was born Aug. 16, 2006, in Kingsport, Tenn., the daughter of Katie Linboom. 

Survivors include her mother, Katie (Travis Hurd) Linboom of Rock Falls; brothers, Tanner and Keegan Linboom of Tennessee; grandparents, Debbie (Chuck) Warford of Rochelle and Theresa (Earl) Jones of Rock Falls; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. 

She was preceded in death by her maternal great-grandparents, great-great-grandmother and a cousin.

A gathering of family and friends will be from 5 to 6 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 6 p.m., Tuesday at McDonald Funeral Home in Sterling. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Longs Bend Cemetery in Surgoinsville.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
